New Painting of 'The Unknown Warrior' by Railway Artist Colin Wright

Derbyshire artist Colin Wright has produced his second painting of LMS Patriot 'The Unknown Warrior'. The superb oil colour painting depicts the artist's impression of Crewe North Shed in May 1934. The original Patriot Class: 5551(unnamed) was out shopped in May 1934, The original Claughton LNWR Memorial Engine "1914 ( LMS 5964) Patriot" was withdrawn in July 1934 and the last Jumbo "25001 Snowdon" was withdrawn in October 1934.

Volunteers Help Paint 'The Unknown Warrior'

LMS-Patriot Project members and volunteers have been preparing and painting the frames and driving wheels at Llangollen and Tyseley Works respectively.
During October and November volunteers have been working to needlegun, prime and undercoat the frames.

Events Update - September 2013

September has been an extremely busy month for our dedicated Sales Team. As many of you will have seen, we took the sales stand to the Barry at War Weekend, Llangollen Autumn Gala, Telford O Gauge Exhibition, Pontypool & Blaenavon Gala, Nene Valley Railway Gala, SVR Autumn Gala, GCR Gala, NRM Shildon, and Barrow Hill Doncaster weekend. We have signed up many new Members and Donors at these events, and with the excellent response we have received from our Steam Railway appeal during August, we are rapidly approaching our 1000th linear member!

'The Unknown Warrior' to visit the National Memorial Arboretum

The LMS-Patriot Company, the charitable new build steam locomotive project which is building the Royal British Legion Endorsed National Memorial Engine, 'The Unknown Warrior', will be displaying the partially completed engine at the National Memorial Arboretum between 12-3pm on 21st November 2013.

Boiler Loan Scheme Launched to Raise Funds for New British Built Boiler for 'The Unknown Warrior'

The LMS-Patriot Company, the charitable project who are building the new Royal British Legion endorsed national memorial engine, has launched a fundraising scheme to complete the all new £477,000 boiler for ‘The Unknown Warrior’. The LMS-Patriot Company is seeking loans from supporters to finance the boiler. Loans will be repaid with an attractive fixed rate 2.5% compound interest rate after 15 years. Interest on loans will start to be repaid from 2020, by which time ‘The Unknown Warrior’will be a revenue earning engine.
