Members' Day
The third Members' Day took place at the Llangollen Railway on the 15th June. Around 190 Members attended the day and travelled behind specially chartered Black 5 number 44806, which did three round trips to Carrog. Lunch was served on the middle train of the day when all Members took the opportunity to see the beautiful Dee Valley on the way to Carrog.
Members were given a tour around the Works where progress of 'The Unknown Warrior' could be seen. The smokebox had been painted especially for Members' Day by Members Godfrey Hall and John Sandiford and was on display in the Works next to 'The Unknown Warrior'.
Later in the day the Project ran a special Fish n Chip charter to Carrog, also hauled by 44806. Several Members stayed for this special charter and enjoyed fish n chips on the train.
