5551 Moved into Main Works at Tyseley

5551 'The Unknown Warrior' was moved into the main Works area at Tyseley Loco Works. Preparatory work for this started at the end of November 2024 with repositioning completed on December 10th. Funding has been authorised for the first of the reassembly tasks - the refitting of the horn guides to the frames. The repositioning of 5551 means that this work will now be able to start.

Meanwhile progress has continued at Heritage Boiler Steam Serevices, at Huyton, Merseyside with the boiler work packages. In December 2024 the focus was on fitting the dome, the regulator and the J pipe.
