Engineering
Following recent discussions with William Cook Cast Products, proof machining of the new wheels has required further engineering drawings: after some resource problems this has now been completed and we are in active contact with the supplier this week to progress completion.Salvage of the usable components from the original wheelsets (balance weights and crank pins) has now been completed at West Shed. The long-awaited replacement driving wheel axle has now been shipped from South Africa and is en route to the UK.
Finance
Our Treasurer has been beavering away preparing his report for this month’s Board Meeting, which took place on the 29th and his contribution to the forthcoming issue of The Warrior. Both he and the rest of the Board were very encouraged by Linda Westerman’s report for the week ending the 20th which said ‘.... [there’s been] a reasonable amount of income and the trend towards bank transfers and online renewals is continuing. There have also been two new members.’ We’re very grateful to those members who are using these methods of payment which help reduce the number of cheques we receive and thus our bank charges.
