Engineering

William Cook Cast Products have completed preparatory work on the driving wheel pattern. This work was carried out free of charge after contract discussions. Completion of the casting work is still expected by the end of June. The original wheelsets have now been returned to PRCLT at West Shed for salvaging re-usable components.

The reassembly of the chassis remains on hold as we need more time to complete our assessment of the quality checks needed on existing chassis components. People availability in April has been a challenge. However our certification body Ricardo has provided valuable input and an inspection is being planned. We are also working with key suppliers on this issue.

Finance

The provisional annual results to 31^st March 2022 were presented to our Board meeting on 30^th April.  In spite of the difficulties of the last year and the squeeze on incomes, with your continuing valued support we achieved almost 90% of our budgeted income across the board.  The total sum received was in excess of £270k. Cash in the bank at 31^st March was almost £250k, since when a further £11.6k in gift aid and £3.9k has hit our account courtesy of HMRC.

 Please keep the faith and, just as importantly, the funds coming in.  It would help the cause if you can encourage relatives or friends to become members or donors.

 Sales

 We are planning to attend as many of the increasing number of model shows and galas as possible to sell our merchandise and to reach out to potential new members/donors.  We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

 2022 AGM

 Date for your diary: this year’s AGM will be held on Saturday 12 November at the Kidderminster Railway Museum’s newly opened annex which is adjacent to the Museum building and single storey, so entirely accessible, and better equipped too.
