Contractor decision
The decision to appoint a contractor for the final assembly has been narrowed down to two. Several meetings have taken place with another being unavoidably delayed until 6th June. We are hopeful that the outcome will be made known to you by the end of June and we will let Members know by email or letter depending on your contact preference.
Open day at Crewe Heritage Centre
On Saturday, 8th June there will be an Open Day for members at Crewe Heritage Centre where you will be able to view The Unknown Warrior which is currently residing in the old Boiler Shop. Volunteers will be there to answer your questions. Please remember to bring your membership card to gain admission.
Also, Crewe Heritage Centre are having a model railway event in the Main Hall with at least eight layouts present plus trade support and society stands. If you have already booked a ticket for The Railway Magazine Open Day at LNWR Heritage/Locomotive Services Limited, Crewe Depot, there will be a Routemaster bus operating at regular intervals between Crewe station, the depot and Crewe Heritage Centre to transport you between the sites.
New Publications
You will be pleased to know the Project are launching Volume 2 of The Patriots, A Pictorial Record, featuring images of Nos. 45526-45551 and also the 2020 calendar. Both will be on sale from 8th June at the Open Day.
