See 'The Unknown Warrior' at Tyseley Summer Open Weekend
Visitors to Tyseley Summer Open Weekend on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July will be able to see the latest progress with 'The Unknown Warrior'. The new Patriot will be making its first public appearance since the Warley National Model Railway Exhibition, last November.
'The Unknown Warrior' has been at Tyseley Loco Works, where the driving wheels have been turned and balanced with the lead weights, and fitted with newly machined axleboxes which has enabled the loco to be properly wheeled for the first time, as temporary axleboxes were used for the Warley exhibition.
Visitors to Tyseley will also be able to visit The LMS-Patriot Project's sales stand where they can sign up to make a regular monthly donation, become a Member or support the boiler loan scheme.
Other attratcions at the now annaul Open Weekend at Tyseley will include visiting engines 46233 'Duchess of Sutherland', 5972 'Olton Hall' - better known as the famous red engine in the Harry Potter films, re-liveried ex-GWR Pannier No. 7752, and resident engines 4965 'Rood Ashton Hall', 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe', and locos under overhaul including 6201'Princess Elizabeth', 45596 'Bahamas' and Tyseley flagship enine 7029 'Clun Castle'.
